"And yet your mind is, was, and will always be a room with a view. Your mental states exist inside this room you can never leave and no one else can ever enter. The world you perceive through the window of mind (where you can never go—where no one can ever go) is the objective world. Both worlds, inside and outside, are real." - 01.01.14 - 12:00 AM |David Gelernter  http://www.commentarymagazine.com/article/the-closing-of-the-scientific-mind/

Spiritual Growth
06/29/2018

Growth takes place from an innate potential when the overall environment allows it, and when there is adequate nutrition to support it. Ideal or healthy growth takes place when the environment may be challenging, but doesn't curtail or stunt the growth, and when ideal nutrition is provided.

In the material or physical arena, there is in this world no such thing as a perfect environment and no such thing as perfect nutrition because nature does not provide uch. Neither a perfect environment nor perfect food is available because of a wide variety of factors, and in a frenzied world no diet regimen is perfect. Our biological system makes substantial allowance for this, but never can totally compensate, and damage and poisonous or toxic exposure can dramatically disrupt growth development.

This situation does not necessarily entirely hold in the spiritual world. While there should be no doubt that the spiritual—emotional, psychological, intellectual, religious—environment can be toxic, and is never perfect, the spiritual heritage and backgrounds can vary significantly. Neither can we justify thinking that everyone starts off with the same or equal intellectual potentials or an overall equal emotional or psychological constitution.

That being said, we cannot say that there is no perfect spiritual diet and regimen for those that have set themselves on the path to truth and are being led by God, and here the analogy breaks down.

"By beholding we become changed!"

In Christendom, there is a lot of discussion and concern over spiritual growth, and this is a clear sign that they don't understand the paradigm. All such talk, and all such programs and projects are wasted, and only produce change, but NOT spiritual growth. What is abundantly clear is that THIS growth isn't fostered by trying harder or worrying about it. What should be equally clear is that it isn't fostered by how we adjust our psychological or social facade. Here are what should be the last words on the subject:

SEEK FIRST THE KINGSHIP
Matthew 6:25-34  Lk 12:22-34  "Therefore I tell you{pl}, do not be concerned about your psyche <pattern of one's life>, what you{pl} eat or what you{pl} drink, nor about your person, what you{pl} put on.  Is not the psyche <content of lifestyle> more than food, and the person more than clothing?
"Look at the birds of the sky: they neither sow nor do they reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them.  Rather by how much you{pl} differ from and excel them!  And which of you{pl} by being anxious can add one cubit to his stature?  If then you{pl} are not able to do such a little thing, why are you{pl} anxious about the other things?  Why are you{pl} anxious about clothing?  Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they labor not nor spin; yet I tell you{pl}, not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like these.  But if God thus clothes the grass of the field, existing today, and being thrown tomorrow into the oven, how much more for you{pl}, puny-faiths?
"Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What may we eat?' or 'What may we drink?' or 'What may clothe us?'  For all the world seeks these things.  For your heavenly Father knows that you{pl} need all these things.  But seek first God's kingship and his reasonableness, and all these things will be added to you{pl}.
"Stop fearing, little flock, because your Father was pleased to give you{pl} the Kingship.  Sell your possessions, and give alms; make purses for yourselves not growing old, a treasure in the heavens not failing, where a thief cannot approach and no moth destroy.  For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.  Then don't be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself.  Sufficient for one day is the trouble thereof."

"Be ye mature, even as your father in Heaven is mature."

It should be abundantly clear that in the above passages Jesus is talking about the spiritual aspects of spiritual growth, strength, integrity, honor, nobility and elegance, NOT tangible clothes, wealth, muscle and bone. etc., and this may not be an offer of a free ride of financial support in the existing world or regime. We must be responsible to SOME degree for our own temporary sustenance. Yet, given this, we can live one day at a time without worrying about the future. The program is to get to the point where we can end the existing world of paucity and woe. Eternal life, salvation, equality, growth, elegance, power, grace, peace, etc., are all imminent and they come from understanding God and why the "kingship of the heavens" is the only real answer to ALL the issues of our needs and desires.
